“Lust, Glory and Other Unsettled Business” is the tabloid and travesty blog entry that materializes in a most fluctuating and weekly style. In most manifestations, it is comprised of articles about absurd world and national news, essays about pseudo characters, unfrequent plugs for hopeful ambitions, existing as a dissertation written by Tim Becker.
The existence of ghosts? There’s two types of people: those who believe and those who don’t. I’m one who doesn’t. And the people who do believe, will insist that you have to have an encounter in order to be a believer.
Well, duh! It’s the same as Bigfoot. However, Bigfoot is more fun to believe.
I never want to believe in ghosts. Because I’m not fond of a presence watching me, without my knowledge or awareness. I don’t need that creepy garbage in my life, since there’s Democrats to take on that role for me.
This entry is about a no-brainer. As a kid in school, I hated homework. I always thought it was a waste of time. However, the way I see it now, having homework was a great thing. There’s a lesson simply having the homework, rather than the subject or assignment. It’s preparation for what life has waiting. Its not something easily explained, as it’s seen as another chore. As adults, we really spend a lot of time working. While kids see time away from school as leisure time, homework illustrates that leisure should never be constant. That’s why, I think, homework wasn’t every day. One learns to appreciate leisure when all the work has been done.
Are guns dangerous or are the people using them dangerous?
Here’s a hot topic… for some. This is gonna be brief, as any sane person understands. Guns ARE NOT dangerous – it’s always the person using the gun. More specifically, it’s the intent for use of the gun which makes the gun dangerous. An inanimate object is only as dangerous as the evil intent.
Never blame the gun. And never blame the innocent, law-abiding gun owners. Blame the lunatic with the gun.
The Official Ripley’s Day PT 1The Ripley’s Aquarium
Finally, an attraction my son could really enjoy. This place was amazing and it was laid out in the traditional manner that many Ripley’s museums are laid out – a labyrinth of passages and ramps. If you’ve ever been, you’d know what I’m talking about. There was “close” encounters with sharks, and turtles were definitely present.
World Guinness
Another Ripley’s attraction, which featured a wax figure of our great President, President Trump (yes, I’m a fan), Ripley’s World Guinness attraction. What was awesome about this place was the interactive features – you had a chance to set your own records. And if you were good enough, you’d be immortalized (until someone came along and beat you).
Some fun about town…My pirate name… Fishface McSquidy Greencheeks! Hey – don’t knock it… I might use it.Fall in the Smokies. Definitely a great backdrop for this trip.
We wrapped up the day with dinner from Bubba Gump. Great time, as always. Great food, as expected. The Bubba Gump staff even caught onto the idea that I was intentionally dressed like “Waldo.” That shirt is now an important memory.
All I can say – Gatlinburg has yet to let me down. I’m having a great time.
The next part of our trip was Chattanooga. And honestly, nothing is disappointing me on this trip. I loved Chattanooga. And it seemed to be a smaller town than I was expecting.
A view from Rock City…
We stopped in at Rock City. The interesting part about getting there was the highway… it seemed to weave back and forth across the state line. Then there was the drive up the mountain. Rock City was awesome. While I won’t post many pics in the blog, feel free to find them on my FaceBook page. It was fun and cozy. And, Rock City was my favorite part of the time Chattanooga.
You can see seven states from this spot. The Incline Railway
So the next bit of fun in Chattanooga was the Incline Railway. Not an all-day attraction, but a must-do. Again, more pics are available on my Facebook page. I highly recommend staying away if you’re not a fan of heights. But the view is well worth facing fear.
Ruby Falls
This was incredible. I hadn’t seen such a more impressive indoor waterfall. Ruby Falls – another must. And I’m certainly glad I’m only 6’ – there were some pretty low ceilings in there.

Now for the following day…
The Aquarium
We ended up having to return the following day, to finish up our package (Ruby Falls, Rock City, Incline Railway and the Aquarium). My son loves fish, so we figured he would have a blast. Oh, he did enjoy it, but he enjoyed the Gift Shops more.
Chattanooga was definitely a great visit. This only completes Day Two of our trip, but I’m walking away with plenty to remember. I regret nothing about this trip so far.
P.S. If you’re looking for some late night grub, stop by the City Diner. I was not disappointed.
OMG!! Talking about new experiences. Nashville was a first for me. First time there – I was blown away. Thank you, Nashville. I had a moment with my son that was lived perfectly. That moment will last me forever.
It’s not my goal to put many pics of my son in my blogs, but this one is special to me.The Parthenon
The Parthenon was the first official stop in Nashville. It was brief. But it’s a pretty cool sight. This one is actually a replica. I’ve not done my research, but in the future, who knows…
Cooter’s
Then there was Cooter’s: a ‘Dukes of Hazzard.’ I was 5 years old again. It was worth stopping in Nashville. Sadly, no General Lee’s were available for my son.
The Aquarium Restaurant
The Aquarium Restaurant is where my son and I had a moment. He loves fish, so his face lit up. The atmosphere, the service, the food all equaled one thing: Great Memory. I look forward to returning someday.
A brand new experience is about to take place for me. In a few hours, I leave for Tennessee. Gatlinburg is going to be our primary trip, with a few additional stops along the way.
This is me. I rarely smile.
As most trips do, they seem to drag in the months after planning. Then once you get to the week before you leave, there’s a shit ton to get accomplished. Today was stressful.
Just a glimpse into the future…
I’m gonna try my best to keep up with my blog, as well as trying to capture sufficient video. I’m hoping to produce a fairly decent vlog, so I can start beefing up my YouTube channel.
And this is because I’m feeling silly. I see clowns when my anxiety is high.
I certainly hope I can clear my head for the days following this trip. I’m very much in need of clarity. My personal life seems to be in a rut. That’s how important this trip is for me.
Honestly, I’m already a person who does both. Usually when I’m staying up late, the idea is to just have some relaxing ‘Me’ time. While getting up early is all about getting an early start on work and priorities.
